About shade forms

Use of shade forms

Each shade form shows the amount of electricity generated by a 1 kW DC solar electric system when the sun is in a given quadrant of the sky. For example, if there is an obstruction that blocks the sun between 7:00am and 8:00 am between September 21 and October 22 (or equivalently February 21 and March 22), then the system electricity production will be reduced by the number in that area. If only 50% of that area is shaded then the electricity generated will be reduced by 50% of the number in that square. A more thorough explanation of the use of the shade forms can be found in this document.
